The Great Feminist Bakeoff
"It’s week six in the tent here in Brooklyn. So far we’ve tasted their tarts, poked at their pies, and even sampled their spotted dick. (Who knew?) I’m Mel Ansu and this week it’s cake week on the ultimate in baking based gymnastics. Welcome to The Great Feminist Bake Off."
Erich turns to the contestants:
"I know you both want the grand prize of the golden pussy (cat) chef’s hat, and as you know this week you’ll be judged not by our usual panel of judges, but rather by all of our guests in the Bake Off tent, pitched here at Shoestring Press in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, and in order to win that golden pussy (cat) chef’s hat we would like to you to make a show stopping cake. Now it could be a seminal cake, or a contraceptive Victoria sponge. It could be a lay her cake, or any other sort of cake you like, but it must be a show stopper. You have the amount of time it takes the average woman to bake a cake, so ready, set, bake!"....
The Great Feminist Bakeoff took place at Shoestring Studio on April 22, 2017 featuring performances by Jenny Carolin and Alexis Neider as contestants, with Erich Erving as host and MC.
